BlakDance brings two major First Nations works to the United Kingdom in May 2026, with presentations at RISE Festival in Findhorn, Scotland.
Gary Lang NT Dance Company’s The Other Side of Me and Jacob Boehme’s GUURANDA X RISE sit at the centre of this international program, sharing distinct yet connected approaches to story, movement and cultural exchange.
BlakDance is Australia’s national industry and producing organisation for contemporary First Nations dance, leading the international touring of these works and building long term relationships across the UK and Europe.
From tanzmesse to RISE Festival
This international program builds on BlakDance’s market development at Tanzmesse Düsseldorf 2024, where the organisation convened the First Nations Dialogues and introduced these works to global presenters.
These relationships have led to invitations to RISE Festival in Scotland and ongoing partnerships across the UK and Europe, including residency and exchange activity connecting artists, communities and presenters.
