GUURANDA X RISE by Jacob Boehme
BlakDance is supporting the international presentation of GUURANDA X RISE as part of its broader program at RISE Festival, working with Jacob Boehme and producer Pippa Bailey to develop a Narungga led touring model grounded in cultural exchange, place based practice and long term relationships.
GUURANDA X RISE is a Narungga-led performance that moves like a gathering rather than a show. Song, movement and story open a shared space where Country leads and knowledge is carried through relationship.
This presentation is shaped in dialogue with the local community, bringing together First Nations and Scottish artists in a shared experience of listening, connection and care. Each iteration responds to the place in which it is performed, and to those who are present.
Audiences are invited not just to watch, but to listen, to feel, and to consider how we move together.
