Nipahtuwet Naka Wespahtuwet (Possesom) Paul is a Wolastoqiyik leader, educator, multidisciplinary artist, and Director of Atlantic Ballet Indigenous. A traditional knowledge keeper and champion dancer, he combines Indigenous cultural practices with contemporary artistic training. Since 2015, he has taught more than 300 students across Atlantic Canada, developing innovative dance programs rooted in powwow traditions, spirituality, and cultural authenticity. His mentorship connects emerging artists with Elders and community knowledge keepers, strengthening cultural continuity and professional development. Through his leadership, he creates opportunities for Indigenous youth to celebrate their identities, develop artistic excellence, and pursue professional pathways in dance while maintaining strong connections to their communities.
